Product Information
Neokurarinol is a bioactive ingredient isolated from the fruit of Fructus Ligustri Lucidi and L. chinense that has been shown to have antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. Neokurarinol inhibits protein synthesis by binding to cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDEs) and blocking the conversion of cyclic AMP (cAMP) to cGMP. This inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which are involved in many diseases. It also has an effect on energy metabolism by inhibiting mitochondrial respiratory chain enzymes. Neokurarinol also inhibits mouse hippocampal neurons from apoptosis induced by hydrogen peroxide.
