Product Information
Norfluorocurarine is a quaternary ammonium salt that has been synthesized from apocynaceae. It is an n-oxide which contains a hydroxyl group, and is derived from the stepwise borohydride reduction of 3-ketochloride. Norfluorocurarine has been shown to have acidic properties by the methochloride test, but this property may be due to its molecular structure rather than the presence of a carbonyl group. Norfluorocurarine shows no hydrogen bonding with water molecules or other polar molecules, and it does not form any stable n-oxides in water. Norfluorocurarine has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activities in mice by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. The molecular modeling indicates that there are no interactions between norfluorocurarine and the chloride ion.
