Nitrosonium hexafluoroantimonate is an organic compound with the formula NbOF. This salt is a diazonium salt that can be used to form an organic solution, which reacts with a wide variety of organic compounds in the presence of a base to generate a coordination complex. Nitrosonium hexafluoroantimonate can be thermally decomposed at high temperatures, generating volatile solvents such as trifluoromethanesulfonic acid and 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid. This reaction mechanism can also be reversed by addition of hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite. Nitrosonium hexafluoroantimonate has been shown to have properties that are similar to those of silicon dioxide and it is used in the manufacture of semiconductors.
