Product Information
- Benzonitrile, 4-Nitro-3-(Trifluoromethyl)-
4-Nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzonitrile (NTB) is a nitro compound that can be used as a monomer in the production of polymers. It has been shown to have magnetic properties, which may be attributed to its aromaticity. The solubility of NTB in different solvents has also been studied. This compound is soluble in ethers, but not in hydrocarbons or alcohols. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography have been used to study the architecture and molecular weight of these compounds. Temperature affects the rate at which NTBs react with nucleophiles and transfer electrons, resulting in different reaction rates for each temperature.
NTB is chemically similar to benzene, which undergoes a transition from double bonding to single bonding when it reacts with an electrophile (e.g., chlorine).
