Description:

4-Nitrobenzenediazonium Hexafluorophosphate is a diazonium salt that can be used as a reagent for the conversion of alcohols to nitriles. It can also be used in the synthesis of organic compounds and pharmaceuticals. 4-Nitrobenzenediazonium Hexafluorophosphate is soluble in methanol and other polar solvents, but insoluble in water. Its elemental composition is C6H5N2O2F6P. The chemical's IR spectrum shows a strong absorption band at 1640 cm-1. A series of NMR spectra show two signals at 8.8 ppm and 8.0 ppm, respectively, corresponding to the protons on the aromatic ring and the nitro group, respectively. This compound has been shown to undergo electrochemical transfer reactions with electron acceptors such as tetrafluoroborates (BF4).
