4-Nitrophenyl 2-Diazo-3,3,3-Trifluoropropionate (4NPP) is a small molecule that inhibits the enzyme aldoxime oxidase, which is involved in the production of reactive oxygen species. The inhibition of this enzyme may lead to an increase in insulin sensitivity and decrease in insulin resistance. 4NPP has been shown to be effective for brain cancer cells and pancreatic cancer cells. 4NPP does not show cytotoxicity against normal cells, but it does inhibit the production of proteins in microsomal proteins. This drug binds to residues on monoclonal antibodies and can be used as a calibration standard for immunoassays.
