Product Information
Nalpha-[(Benzyloxy)Carbonyl]-N-(4-Fluoro-3-Oxo-2-Butanyl)Phenylalaninamide is a chemical inhibitor that blocks the activity of caspase, an enzyme that is involved in cell death. This compound has been shown to protect against ischemic brain damage and to inhibit the activation of autophagy, which may be due to its effects on mitochondrial membrane potential. Nalpha-[(Benzyloxy)Carbonyl]-N-(4-Fluoro-3-Oxo-2-Butanyl)Phenylalaninamide has also been shown to inhibit viral life cycles and microbial infections by inhibiting protease activity. It can be used as a model system for group P2 toll-like receptor signaling, which may lead to new drug targets for treating ischemic brain damage or other diseases with mitochondrial dysfunction.
