9-Oxo-9H-thioxanthene-3-carboxylic acid 10,10-dioxide is a chromophore that is used in optical composites and polymerized to form polymers. It has been shown to be an efficient initiator for polymerization reactions, such as the polymerization of acrylate monomers. It has also been shown to be a good photorefractive material. 9-Oxo-9H-thioxanthene-3-carboxylic acid 10,10-dioxide has a molecular weight of 310.24 g/mol and coefficients of reactivity of -0.5 for oxygen atoms and +1 for thioxanthane groups.
