Description:
5-Oxo-1-(4-phenoxyphenyl)pyrrolidine-3-carboxylic acid is a crotonic acid derivative that can be synthesized from 4-phenoxybenzaldehyde and hydrazine. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activities, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins in inflamed tissues. 5-Oxo-1-(4-phenoxyphenyl)pyrrolidine-3-carboxylic acid has also been used as a monomer for the production of methacrylic and acrylic esters.
