Description

4-Oxo-2,4-diphenylbutanenitrile is a synthetic molecule that is used as a fluorescence probe. It can be used to measure the inhibitory activities of different molecules on the activity of protein kinases. 4-Oxo-2,4-diphenylbutanenitrile has also been shown to have antiinflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. The photophysical properties of this compound have been studied extensively, and it has shown to be sensitive to changes in pH, solvent composition, and temperature.
