Product Information

Name:
4-Oxo-1,4-dihydropyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid hydrate
Description:

4-Oxo-1,4-dihydropyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid hydrate (4ODHC) is a molecule that is being investigated as a potential anti-cancer drug. It is a trifluoroacetic acid derivative of lactic acid and has been shown to be highly selective for cancer cells with high glutamate levels. 4ODHC also binds to nitrogen atoms, which are found in the amino acids glutamine and asparagine, both of which are important for cancer cell proliferation. The radionuclide properties of 4ODHC make it useful as an optical imaging probe. The pyrazole ring on the molecule can target mammalian tissue and the hydroxy group on the molecule can bind to monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).
