Product Information

Name:
2-Oxetanecarboxylic acid
Synonyms:
  • 2-Oxetanecarboxylic Acid
Description:

2-Oxetanecarboxylic acid (2OCA) is a fatty acid that has been shown to have antitumor activity. The 2OCA was synthesized by photolysis of 1,3-diazoketones in the presence of bromodomains and subsequent reaction with fluorine. This process resulted in a novel class of uv-irradiation-resistant, asymmetric, and selective uptake inhibitors of cancer cells. 2OCA also inhibits the growth of tumor cells by inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. 2OCA may be used as a pharmaceutical preparation for cancer treatment due to its ability to selectively kill tumor cells without harming healthy tissue.
