Product Information

Name:
2-Octylthiophene
Synonyms:
  • Thiophene, 2-octyl-
  • 2-n-Octylthiophene
Description:

2-Octylthiophene is an organic solvent that is used as a solvent in the production of polymeric matrixes. It can be used as a radiation absorber, additive to polymer films, and additive to sodium sulfide particles. The properties of 2-octylthiophene make it suitable for use in perovskite solar cells, where it acts as an acceptor and additive to the solid form of the perovskite material. 2-Octylthiophene also has been shown to react with metal halides such as AgX (X = Cl, Br) or CuX (X = I, Br) to produce new reactions products.
