1H,1H,5H-Octafluoropentyl Methacrylate (stabilized with TBC) is a fluorinated monomer that belongs to the group of acrylates. It is an optimal polymerization initiator for the synthesis of polymers with good stability and excellent processability. The reaction is initiated by the addition of a catalyst such as trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. 1H,1H,5H-Octafluoropentyl Methacrylate (stabilized with TBC) can be used as a conditioning agent for acrylic resins and as a reactive monomer for preparing crosslinked polymers. This compound has been shown to have optical properties in the near infrared region.
