Description:
4-Octylphenyl salicylate is an activated ester of salicylic acid. It has been shown to have affinity for both fatty acids and calcium carbonate, which can be used in vitro assays to determine the distribution of this compound in biological systems. 4-Octylphenyl salicylate is an antagonist with estrogen, and has bimodal antagonistic activities. This compound also has sunscreen properties, and can be used as a chemical absorber for fatty acid esters.
