Octadecyltriethoxysilane is a white powder with the chemical formula (C8H17)3SiO. It is used as an additive in paint, coatings, and sealants to provide a protective barrier or to improve the surface properties of zirconium oxide. Octadecyltriethoxysilane also has analytical applications in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and fluorescence probe techniques.
