(3aS,7aS)-Octahydro-1H-indole is a potent inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DDP-4), which is an enzyme that inactivates incretins. DPP-4 inhibitors are currently being investigated for their potential as new treatments for diabetes. The inhibition activity of this molecule has been characterized using molecular docking and molecular modeling techniques. Pharmacokinetic studies have shown that it has a good pharmacokinetic profile, with low volume distribution and low plasma protein binding, which may be due to its high lipophilicity. This molecule also has strong inhibition activity against DPP-4 at the concentration of 10 μM, with an IC50 value of 1.5 μM. Molecular docking and modeling studies show that (3aS,7aS)-octahydro-1H-indole binds to the active site of DPP-4 by forming hydrogen bonds with the residues
