Description:

Pentafluoropyridine is a cyclic peptide that contains a pentafluoropyridine moiety. It has been shown to have biological properties against microbial infections. Pentafluoropyridine has been used as an oxygen nucleophile in the synthesis of other pentafluoropyridines, and it can be synthesized from sodium carbonate and hydroxyl group. This compound also reacts with sodium salts, forming pentafluoropyridine. Pentafluoropyridine has a hydrophobic side chain and is soluble in organic solvents. The structural analysis of this compound was determined using UV absorption spectroscopy and NMR spectroscopy. The hydrogen bond formation between the nitrogen atom of the amine group and the carbonyl group of pentafluoropyridine could explain its high reactivity with oxygen nucleophiles, such as sodium salts, which are electron-deficient species.
