Description

3-(1-Piperazinyl)-1,2-benzisothiazole is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of antimicrobial agents. It inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting the activity of enzymes like DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. 3-(1-Piperazinyl)-1,2-benzisothiazole has been shown to be effective against bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 3-(1-Piperazinyl)-1,2-benzisothiazole also inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in culture.
