Description

2-Phenylindole is an experimental drug that inhibits the reuptake of serotonin by binding to the serotonin transporter. It is also a potential treatment for cancer, as it inhibits tumor growth and metastasis. The chemical stability of 2-phenylindole has been studied in a number of solvents, including water, hydrochloric acid, and calcium stearate. The structural analysis of this compound has been conducted using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. These studies have elucidated the pharmacokinetic properties of this compound. 2-Phenylindole binds to estrone sulfate receptors with inhibitory properties on HIV infection.
