Product Information
- 3-Aminopyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine
1H-Pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-3-amine (1HPP) is a β-unsaturated ketone that can be synthesized from nitrous acid and triazine. 1HPP has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by binding to the DNA and inhibiting transcription and replication. Its binding to DNA may be due to hydrogen bonding interactions with chloride ions, as well as the presence of functional groups such as a carbonyl group and nitro group. 1HPP also inhibits the activity of xanthine oxidase, an enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine. This inhibition may be due to its ability to form a covalent bond with this enzyme's cofactor, NADPH.
