- Ipragliflozin L-proline
L-Proline compd. with (1S)-1,5-anhydro-1-C-[3-(benzo[b]thien-2-ylmethyl)-4-fluorophenyl]-D-glucitol (1:1) is a stereoselective and potent inhibitor of the enzyme phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K). It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of diabetic heart disease, insulin resistance, and hepatic steatosis. L-Proline compd. with (1S)-1,5-anhydro-1-C-[3-(benzo[b]thien-2-ylmethyl)-4-fluorophenyl]-D-glucitol (1:1) also increases insulin sensitivity by stabilizing glucose transport and improving pancreatic beta cell function. In addition, it has been used to treat depression in patients with diabetes mellitus.
