Description

3-Pyrrolidine carboxylic acid is an amino acid that is structurally similar to GABA. It has been shown to inhibit the uptake of GABA by inhibiting the transporter and receptor binding, thereby increasing the amount of available GABA. 3-Pyrrolidine carboxylic acid has also been shown to have a strong inhibitory effect on biochemical properties such as gamma-aminobutyric acid synthesis and assays. 3-Pyrrolidine carboxylic acid binds asymmetrically to the transporter, which increases its uptake and inhibits GABA uptake.
