Potassium hexafluorotitanate is a chemical compound that is composed of potassium, fluorine, and titanium. It has been shown to have the potential for use in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy as a red fluorescent dye. Potassium hexafluorotitanate can also be used in light emission reactions with sodium carbonate and hydrogen fluoride (HF). In these reactions, the compound emits red light. The morphology of potassium hexafluorotitanate particles can be observed by electron microscopy. Potassium hexafluorotitanate also reacts exothermically with aluminium to produce hydrogen gas and aluminium fluoride, which may be useful in detergent compositions.
