(Pyr 6,Pro 9)-Substance P (6-11) Pyr-Phe-Phe-Pro-Leu-Met-NH2 is a peptide that has been shown to have locomotor activity in rats, receptor activity, and physiological effects. This peptide binds to the κ opioid receptor and the neurokinin 1 receptor. It was found to have antimicrobial properties against gram positive bacteria and gram negative bacteria. In addition, it has been shown to be an inhibitor of fatty acid synthesis. This molecule also has been studied for its ability to treat metabolic disorders by inhibiting malonic acid production in animals.
