Description:

2-Phenoxyethylamine is a drug with anti-cancer properties. It is a precursor to phenoxyethanol, an ingredient in pharmaceutical preparations that has affinity for 5-HT1A receptors in the striatal membranes of mice. 2-Phenoxyethylamine has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity and reduce body weight gain in mice by activating the adenosine monophosphate kinase (AMPK) pathway. This drug also has potential for treating polycystic ovarian syndrome and other horticultural purposes due to its ability to inhibit the proliferation of plant cells. Monoclonal antibodies have been used for the identification of 2-phenoxyethylamine as well.
