Product Information
- 5-(Pyridin-3-Yl)-1,3,4-Thiadiazol-2-Amine
5-Pyridin-3-yl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine is a catalytic molecule that can be used as an inhibitor of corrosion. It is a pyridine derivative and has been shown to be effective in the presence of chloroformates and other compounds in ionic liquids. 5-Pyridin-3-yl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine has also been shown to be a strong inhibitor of the electrochemical reactions associated with corrosion. The effectiveness of this compound is based on its ability to bind to sites on metal surfaces that are not accessible to other inhibitors due to steric hindrance. This inhibition efficiency is increased by the presence of water molecules. 5Pyridin-3yl-1,3,4-thiadiazol -2amine reacts with azide in the same manner as it does with chloride ions and other halides.
