Description

1-(Phenylsulfonyl)piperidine-4-carbohydrazide is a cholinesterase inhibitor that binds to acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase. The compound has been shown to inhibit the activity of both enzymes in vitro. The IC50 value was determined to be 24.2 μM for human acetylcholinesterase and 0.8 μM for human butyrylcholinesterase, as determined by automated docking methods. This agent is a sulfonyl chloride derivative with a piperidine ring and an aliphatic chain. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of chlorides at concentrations of 50 μg/mL or higher when tested in vitro, which may lead to its inhibition of acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase activities in vivo.
