Description

1-Propionylpyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid is a fossil lipid that has been shown to be bio-synthesized from the metabolism of oleaginous microalgae. It is a neutral lipid and can be used as a feedstock for biofuel production. 1-Propionylpyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid can also be produced by fermenting trehalose, which is a naturally occurring disaccharide found in plants, fungi, and bacteria.
