Description:
5-Propyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine is a compound that is used in the detection of metal surfaces. It has been shown to inhibit the growth rate in Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae when it is mixed with dimethylformamide and hydrochloric acid. This compound also has antiviral effects against herpes simplex virus type 1 and can be used to treat hepatitis. 5-Propyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine can also act as a corrosion inhibitor for metals at high temperature. The thermodynamic properties of this molecule have been studied extensively.
