Product Information

Name:
(2-Piperidin-3-ylethyl)amine
Synonyms:
  • 2-piperidin-3-ylethanamine3-piperidineethanamine
Description:

(2-Piperidin-3-ylethyl)amine is a lipase inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit the hydrolysis of triacylglycerols in cardiac myocytes. It is also active against the lipases from both the gastric and pancreatic juices, with a potency that is greater than that of orlistat. The hydrolyzed form of (2-piperidin-3-ylethyl)amine was shown to be an irreversible inhibitor of the activity of hepatic lipase on digitonin and triacylglycerol. This inhibition was not due to binding at the active site but rather to a conformational change in the enzyme induced by (2-piperidin-3-ylethyl)amine.
