Description:
6-Phenoxypyridine-2-carboxylic acid (6PPCA) is a herbicide that belongs to the hydrazide class of herbicides. It has been shown to be effective against broadleaf weeds and grasses. 6PPCA inhibits the growth of plants by inhibiting the formation of nucleotides, which are essential for plant growth. 6PPCA binds directly with picolinic acid to form picolinic acid carboxylate, which inhibits enzyme activity in plant cells and thus prevents protein synthesis and cell division.
