Propoxyacetic acid produces a decrease in blood pressure by inhibiting the conversion of nitric oxide to cyclic GMP, which causes vasodilation. The drug also inhibits the synthesis of ATP, which is essential for cellular energy production. Propoxyacetic acid is radioactive and reacts with other substances to form new compounds, such as hydrochloric acid.
