Description:
4-(Pyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl)benzaldehyde (4-PMB) is a molecule of the aldehyde group, which is an optimized target product. It can be used as an anticancer agent. 4-PMB has shown to be effective against leukemia cells and melanoma cells in vitro. It also showed cytotoxicity against leukemia cells in vivo. The high yield of this molecule is due to the acetal formed during the hydrolysis reaction. 4-PMB is water soluble and nucleophilic, making it easy to synthesize with a variety of functional groups. The target compound for this synthesis was not found in nature and was created using synthetic methods.
