Description

3-Phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole is a triazole derivative that is archetypal and can be used as an ancillary ligand. It has been shown to emit yellow light in solid state. The efficiency of this compound is nonradiative and it can be used as a luminescent material. 3-Phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole also has phytotoxicity properties and can cause damage to plants when applied in high concentrations. This compound reacts with pyridine or other nitrogen compounds to form diazonium salts which are useful for the preparation of various organic compounds such as dyes and pharmaceuticals.
