Product Information

Name:
(2-Propoxyphenyl)amine
Synonyms:
  • 2-propoxyanilinebenzenamine
  • 2-propoxy-
  • Benzenamine, 2-Propoxy-
Description:

2-Propoxyphenyl amine (2-PPPA) is a reagent that has been used to label polymers and proteins. It is efficient and can be used for the labeling of bioactive compounds, such as sweeteners, which are biologically active when ingested. 2-PPPA has been shown to be soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in water. It can be labeled with photoaffinity probes, such as polyaniline.
2-PPPA can also be used to synthesize polymers, such as polyaniline, by reacting it with aniline to form a chain reaction that leads to crosslinking of polymer chains. This process produces a polymer that is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents.
