Description:
1-Propyl-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione is a programmed polymer that can be synthesized from 1-propylpyrrole using the Grignard reaction. The compound has been shown to have a number of useful properties such as solubility in organic solvents and the ability to form protonated polymers with phenyl groups. It is an important chemical for modification of surfaces, with applications in environmental pollution control, as well as for use in emulsion polymerization, copolymerization and molecular modeling.
