Description

2-[5-(Phenylcarbonyl)-2-thienyl]propanoic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) by inhibiting cyclooxygenase. It has been shown to inhibit tumor metastasis in animal models and to have an anti-inflammatory activity. 2-[5-(Phenylcarbonyl)-2-thienyl]propanoic acid has also shown anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo, as well as a synergistic interaction with chemotherapeutic drugs.
