Description

Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid is a heterocyclic compound with an organic acid group. It can be prepared by the reaction of 2-aminopyrazole with nitroethane and hydrochloric acid in ethanol. Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid has been shown to act as a serotonin receptor antagonist and may be a potential drug for the treatment of depression. It is also used as a reagent in organic synthesis for the Suzuki reaction and transmetallation reactions. Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid has acidic properties that are due to its carboxyl group. This compound exists in salt form (e.g., sodium salt) and catalytic form (e.g., ferric chloride).
