2-Propylthiazolo[4,5-c]quinolin-4-amine is a synthetic molecule that has been shown to be an agonist of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). TLR4 is a protein on the surface of cells that recognizes and responds to bacterial lipopolysaccharide or viral double stranded RNA. This agonist has been shown to induce pro-inflammatory cytokines in the liver. 2-Propylthiazolo[4,5-c]quinolin-4-amine may be useful as a vaccine adjuvant for immunization against hepatitis virus infection. It can also be used as a chemotype for other compounds with similar properties to identify new drugs.
