Description

2-(Phthalimido)acetaldehyde diethylacetal is an organic solvent that is used in pharmaceutical preparations. It has been shown to have anticancer activity in animal models of cancer. 2-(Phthalimido)acetaldehyde diethylacetal has also been shown to have anti-coagulation properties. This compound binds to the coagulation factor Xa receptor, which inhibits the activation of this protein and prevents blood clotting. 2-(Phthalimido)acetaldehyde diethylacetal has not been shown to be a potent inhibitor of tyrosine phosphatases, which are enzymes that regulate the activity of other proteins. This may explain its lack of effect on insulin resistance and depression in animals.br>
