Piperazine estrone sulfate is a drug used in the treatment of estrogen deficiency. It is a prodrug that is converted to estradiol benzoate in vivo. Piperazine estrone sulfate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties and has been used as an experimental therapy for ovarian cancer. This drug also inhibits replication by binding to the DNA, which prevents transcription and replication of the cell's genetic material. Piperazine estrone sulfate has been shown to have a significant effect on weight gain and body mass index in women with hypoestrogenism, but may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, breast pain, headache, dizziness, depression, and vaginal dryness.
