Product Information
- 4-Pyrimidinecarbonitrile
Pyrimidine-4-carbonitrile is a drug substance that is used in the preparation of serotonin, amide, and carboxamidoxime. It is also an active methylene with a n-oxide, peroxide, and active hydrogen. The pharmacokinetic properties of pyrimidine-4-carbonitrile are not well understood due to its low solubility in water. Pyrimidine-4-carbonitrile has been shown to react with nucleophiles such as amines and sulfoxides. This substance can also form an unstable sulfoxide or aldehyde when heated even at room temperature.
