Phenylbutazonecalcium is a synthetic ester compound that is used as a polymerization initiator. It is prepared by the reaction of phenylbutazone with calcium carbonate in the presence of malonate. The optimization parameters were optimized to give an improved yield rate for the synthesis. Phenylbutazonecalcium has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and can be used to treat dental pain, although it does not have any effect on bone resorption or formation. This product has good bioavailability and is magnetic.
