Description:
1-Phenylcyclobutanecarboxylicacid is a cholinesterase inhibitor. It has been shown to stabilize the enzyme complex and dissociate from the enzyme, which may be due to its ability to inhibit butyrylcholinesterase and acetylcholinesterase. 1-Phenylcyclobutanecarboxylicacid also has medicinal properties that have been tested in vitro and found effective against cholinesterases. The compound is not toxic to humans because it does not readily cross the blood-brain barrier.
