Phenothiazine-10-carbonylchloride is a derivative of phenothiazine that is used as an anticancer agent. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interacting with estrogen receptors, which are found in high numbers on cancer cells. Phenothiazine-10-carbonylchloride has been shown to have anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. The binding affinity of this compound to estrogen receptors has been demonstrated using photoelectrochemical methods and photocleavage reactions. The synthesis of this compound is synthetically possible and it can be isolated from wastewater samples.
