Product Information
- Pyrrole-2-carboxamide
1H-Pyrrole-2-carboxamide is a low potency amide that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against hepatitis. This drug also inhibits the replication of cancer cells by inhibiting aerobic glycolysis. 1H-Pyrrole-2-carboxamide binds to the ribose moiety of DNA and causes covalent adducts with the methylene group of guanine residues in the DNA chain. These adducts inhibit replication by interfering with both transcription and DNA synthesis.
