Description:
3-Piperidin-4-yl-benzo[d]isoxazole is a molecule that is structurally related to an atypical antipsychotic agent. It is structurally similar to the fluoroquinolones, but has a different pharmacological profile. The optimization of this molecule has led to its use as an antipsychotic drug. 3-Piperidin-4-yl-benzo[d]isoxazole binds to 5HT2A receptors and inhibits the synthesis of dopamine in the brain, which leads to its effects on hyperlocomotion and other symptoms. This drug also has been shown to have potential as an anti-inflammatory agent due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
