Description:

1H-Pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxylicacid is a dopamine D3 receptor agonist that has been shown to have affinity for the D2-like receptor subtype. This compound was designed to be a bivalent ligand, with two pharmacophores that are expected to bind the D3 and D2 receptors. The compound has been shown to selectively target the dopamine D3 receptor and has been evaluated in animal models of Parkinson's disease. 1H-Pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxylicacid has also delineated the link between dopamine deficiency and cognitive function.
