Product Information
2,5-Difluoropyrimidine is a chemical compound that is used in organic synthesis. It can be prepared by reacting aluminium with 2,5-dichloropyrimidine in the presence of magnesium and dimethylformamide. This reaction requires a high temperature and yields the desired product in good yield. The reaction can also be carried out using lithium aluminium hydride instead of magnesium as the base. 2,5-Difluoropyrimidine has been used as a nucleophilic reagent for coupling reactions, such as the Grignard reaction.
